ISLAMABAD: 27 February, 2026: A meeting of the special task force on repatriation of illegal nationals was held on Friday at CDA Headquarters to take stock of actions taken against illegally residing foreign nationals, under the chairmanship of Chief Commissioner Islamabad and Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Muhammad Ali Randhawa. The meeting was attended by Inspector General (IG) Islamabad Police, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon, as well as the district administrations and police of various districts including Rawalpindi, Attock, Haripur and Murree via Zoom link along with officers from the Ministry of Interior, NADRA, PTA and other relevant departments. During the meeting, the performance of the task force regarding action against illegally residing foreign nationals was reviewed. Briefings were given in the meeting regarding the actions taken so far against illegally residing individuals in the Federal Capital Islamabad and the districts of Rawalpindi, Attock, Murree and Haripur. Briefing the Chief Commissioner Islamabad and CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa on the progress made in this regard, the relevant officers from the district administration informed that the process of repatriating illegally residing foreign nationals from various districts is continuing rapidly and the voluntary return of the majority of illegally residing foreign nationals has been ensured in the first instance. The meeting was informed that the process of legal action against landlords of illegally residing foreign nationals is ongoing, while FIRs are being registered for providing business premises on rental basis to illegally residing individuals. Similarly, FIRs are also being registered against illegally residing individuals under relevant laws. The meeting was informed that the majority of illegally residing individuals from all districts have been repatriated and strict measures have been taken to completely curb the movement of illegal foreigners in the adjacent districts. Chief Commissioner Islamabad and CDA Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa directed to ensure that no residential space or employment should be provided to illegal foreigners. He said that data from these adjoining districts should be integrated with the central dashboard of the Federal Ministry of Interior. Inspector General (IG) Islamabad Police, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, said that measures should be taken to eliminate the settlements of illegally residing individuals through strict actions. Officers from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) said that the process of blocking SIMs of illegally residing individuals is ongoing. Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, said that it is the commitment of the Government of Pakistan to ensure the country's security and safety by making effective legal action against illegal nationals. He further added that all relevant institutions, by jointly following a comprehensive strategy, are taking effective measures to resolve this issue on a permanent basis.
