CDA Chairman Reviews Eid Cattle Market Arrangements, Orders Enhanced Facilities and Security in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: May 25, 2026: Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner of Islamabad, Sohail Ashraf, visited the temporary cattle market established at Zia Mosque on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha. On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon, Chief Officer of MCI, Dr. Anam Fatima along with other officers accompanied him. Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Sohail Ashraf, reviewed the arrangements made at the cattle market. Senior officers briefed Chairman CDA about the measures taken at the cattle market, said that keeping in view the facilities for citizens, buyers and traders several steps have been taken in the cattle markets. During the briefing, it was informed to Chairman CDA that the provision of clean drinking water is being ensured in abundant and continuous supply at the temporary cattle markets set up for Eid-ul-Adha. Similarly, adequate lighting arrangements, restroom facilities as well as free parking facilities are also being provided to the citizens. Chairman CDA was informed that special measures have also been taken to maintain security, cleanliness and order in the temporary cattle markets established for Eid-ul-Adha. The briefing said that the administration has set a fee of PKR 3,000 for small animals and PKR 4,000 for large animals at the cattle market. It was further informed during the briefing that, keeping in view the convenience of citizens and traders, CDA and MCI administration have also established a help desk and issued helpline numbers. Citizens can also register complaints regarding cleanliness, clean drinking water, restroom facilities and other issues through the helpline number. Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Sohail Ashraf, directed that the timely resolution of received complaints must be ensured in all cases. Expressing satisfaction over the steps taken by the administration, he said that excellent and effective measures have been taken by the administration in the temporary cattle markets of the Capital City, Islamabad. He also instructed to make the security and other measures even more effective. Later, Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Sohail Ashraf, along with relevant officers, visited the Diplomatic Enclave and conducted a detailed review of security and other arrangements. He directed the timely completion of cleanliness, adequate lighting and parking arrangements and other construction work. Chairman CDA also instructed that the upgradation and other beautification and renovation works of the Diplomatic Enclave be completed on a priority basis.
