CDA Accelerates Comprehensive Upgradation of Diplomatic Enclave to International Standards

ISLAMABAD: 3rd September, 2026: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has launched a comprehensive upgradation project for the Diplomatic Enclave, Islamabad, aimed at transforming the area into a modern, secure, green, clean and internationally presentable diplomatic district. The development works are continuing at full pace. The initiative focuses on quality infrastructure, enhanced security, contemporary design, landscaping, horticulture, improved roads and footpaths, modern lighting and dignified public spaces, with the objective of further strengthening Islamabad's image as the federal capital of Pakistan. Chairman CDA has directed the Special Projects Directorate to undertake comprehensive upgradation of the Diplomatic Enclave, including construction of a new boundary wall and strengthening of its overall security infrastructure. The ongoing works include upgradation of security gates and check posts, construction of a dedicated waiting area, improvement of roads and footpaths, allied civil works, architectural cladding and construction works, strengthening of boundary and security infrastructure, installation of modern LED and security lighting, fencing, grills, razor wire and other protective measures. Special emphasis is also being placed on landscaping, horticulture, cleanliness and beautification. Tree trimming, plantation and improvement of green belts and medians are being carried out to further enhance the distinctive green character of Islamabad. The project also provides for improved pedestrian facilities, better lighting, upgraded roads and enhanced public spaces, contributing to a more secure, orderly, functional and dignified environment for diplomats, residents, visitors and officials. The transformation of the Diplomatic Enclave forms an important part of CDA's broader vision to develop Islamabad as a world-class, secure, beautiful, green and professionally managed capital city. Upon completion, the upgraded Diplomatic Enclave will project a positive and dignified image of Pakistan before the international diplomatic community and provide an improved environment for diplomats, international delegations, investors, business leaders and visitors. Members of the diplomatic community have welcomed CDA's initiative and appreciated the ongoing efforts to improve security, infrastructure, landscaping, cleanliness and the overall presentation of the Diplomatic Enclave. The project reflects CDA's continued commitment, under the vision of Federal Minister for Interior Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi and the leadership of Chairman CDA, to develop a Diplomatic Enclave that reflects the dignity of Pakistan, the distinctive character of Islamabad and contemporary international standards.
