CDA Approves 37 Commercial and Residential Projects Covering 6.69 Million Sq. Ft. in 2026

ISLAMABAD: August 10, 2026: The Building and Housing Control Wing of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), through the forum of the Design Vetting Committee (DVC), reviewed 42 commercial projects during 7 meetings held in the year 2026 and approved 37 projects within the limits of the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT). These projects include commercial buildings, apartment buildings, mixed-use projects, office units, hostel facilities, 5 mosques and one school building, comprising a total covered area of 6,690,580 square feet. According to details, these projects collectively include 721 commercial units (shops), 1,981 residential units (flats) and 362 office units. It is noteworthy that the current pace and volume of proposed approvals reflect CDA's commitment to facilitating the construction industry, promoting investment, and fostering excellent professional practices in the City of Islamabad. Similarly, the CDA is also highly committed to further streamlining and simplifying the processes relating to formal approval of building plans, issuance of completion certificates and other regulatory approvals in the housing sector, without compromising the safety and security of citizens in accordance with the ICT Building Control Regulations 2023.
