Chairman CDA Reviews Progress on Development Works in New Sectors of Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: September 9, 2025: An important meeting was held at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) Headquarters on Tuesday, chaired by Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa. The meeting was attended by Member Administration and Estate Talat Mahmood, Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, Member Planning and Design Dr. Khalid Hafiz, Member Environment Esfandyar Baloch, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon, DG Works, and other senior officers. The participants reviewed the progress of development works in new sectors of Islamabad. During the briefing, it was informed that the base work for road infrastructure in Sector C-14 will be completed within this month. Funds for the completion of development works in the sector have already been released, and construction is progressing rapidly in line with the directives of Chairman CDA. It was further apprised that horticulture and environmentally friendly plantation will be promoted in Sector C-14, with aesthetically designed landscaping and eco-friendly tree plantation in green belts and other designated areas. The tendering process for the installation of streetlights has also been completed. The meeting was also briefed on the progress in Sector C-15, where drainage and sewerage works are advancing rapidly and expected to be completed soon. Similarly, it was informed that road infrastructure in Sector C-16 is progressing at a fast pace, while work is also being carried out on a priority basis to ensure timely supply of electricity to Sectors C-15 and C-16. The progress of development works in other sectors of Islamabad was also reviewed. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa emphasized the need to accelerate the pace of all development projects while ensuring quality standards to provide modern residential facilities to citizens. He said these measures aim to address the growing housing needs of the federal capital and to provide all necessary civic amenities. He directed that all available resources be fully utilized to transform Islamabad into a modern and model city.
