Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa Meets Yango Team to Discuss Integration of Modern Transport Services in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: October 23, 2025: Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, met with Country Head of Yango Services Pakistan, Miral Sharif Khan, and Head of Public Policy and Government Affairs, Yango, Jahangir Khan, along with the Yango team, on Thursday at the CDA Headquarters. The meeting was attended by Member Planning and Design Dr. Khalid Hafiz, Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, Director General Resources, Director Metro Bus Services, and other senior officers. Discussions focused on enhancing public transport facilities and exploring options for integrating modern online transport services with the existing metro and electric feeder bus networks to provide citizens of Islamabad with more accessible, affordable, and eco-friendly travel options. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa reiterated that making Islamabad one of the best capital cities in the world remains a top priority. He emphasized that providing citizens with a modern, affordable, and environmentally sustainable transport system is central to this vision. He shared that the CDA has already launched a Google App for bus stations and real-time tracking, and efforts are underway to integrate Yango Services with the city’s public transport system to enhance its effectiveness. The Chairman further stated that Yango Services should be linked with both the electric and feeder bus projects as well as with CDA’s Google App, enabling citizens to easily access information and services related to metro buses, electric feeder buses, and Yango’s car and bike-sharing platforms. The Yango team informed that their services operate in over thirty countries and are already integrated with public transport systems in several of them. They also highlighted that Yango has 8,000 registered drivers in Pakistan, all connected with the Safe City Project. Detailed discussions were also held on the introduction of electric bikes, scooties, and bicycles to promote cost-effective and environmentally friendly transport solutions in Islamabad. Chairman Randhawa noted that CDA plans to introduce electric bikes, scooties, and bicycles through national and international companies under a transparent and open framework. He assured that CDA would provide all necessary infrastructure and facilities to support these initiatives. The Yango representatives also expressed their interest in participating in Islamabad’s tree plantation drive and collaborating in cultural activities and festivals organized in the capital. Reaffirming CDA’s commitment to leveraging Yango’s global expertise, Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that all available resources are being utilized to ensure safe, affordable, and sustainable travel facilities for citizens. He reiterated that providing the best possible services to the people of Islamabad remains a top priority.
