ISLAMABAD: 7th March, 2026: A special event was held on Saturday at the Women’s Ramdan Sahulat Bazar established in Sector G-11 of the Federal Capital, Islamabad, to mark International Women’s Day. The event was organized in collaboration with the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) and the Islamabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The objective of the event was to highlight the business potential of women and provide them with opportunities to move towards economic independence and empowerment. A large number of women customers, traders, and businesswomen participated in the event organized on the occasion of International Women’s Day. On this occasion, in line with the vision of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, a completely cashless payment system was implemented at the Women’s Ramdan Sahulat Bazar. Special arrangements were also made to encourage women traders and entrepreneurs. Women entrepreneurs are displaying their products at various stalls designated exclusively for women at the bazar. In collaboration with the Islamabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Women’s Ramdan Sahulat Bazar has been specially organized in Sector G-11 and will remain operational until Eid-ul-Fitr. Women traders and business representatives appreciated the initiative taken by CDA and MCI, stating that such opportunities play a vital role in promoting women’s economic independence. They also highlighted that essential goods are being made available at very reasonable prices for women consumers at the bazar. Businesswoman Ms. Shazia Imran said that organic, natural, chemical-free, fresh, and healthy food items, along with various other products, are also available at the Women’s Bazar. Vice President of the Islamabad Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry Rabia Farhan stated that this special bazar, organized in collaboration with CDA and MCI, is a wonderful gift for women on International Women’s Day. She added that the bazar provides immense business opportunities for women entrepreneurs and expressed gratitude to CDA and MCI for organizing the initiative. Customers expressed hope that CDA will continue organizing such events in the future to support women’s independence and empowerment. The CDA administration stated that, like other Ramdan Sahulat Bazars, a strict price monitoring and control system has also been implemented at the Women’s Ramdan Bazar. The administration further said that, under the directions of Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa, the Women’s Ramdan Bazar established in Sector G-11 has been equipped with modern facilities for women consumers and traders, where food items and other essential commodities are available at reasonable prices. The CDA administration added that the establishment of such a bazar for women in the Federal Capital will prove to be a milestone for the economic empowerment and well-being of women.
