Chairman CDA Reviews Rapid Progress on Major Development Projects Across Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: November 24, 2025 : A review meeting on the ongoing development projects in Islamabad was held at the CDA Headquarters on Monday, chaired by Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa. The meeting was attended by CDA Board members, including Member Administration Talat Mehmood, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, Member Planning and Design Dr. Khalid Hafiz, Member Environment Esfandyar Baloch, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon, along with other senior officers. A detailed briefing was given on the progress of various development projects across Islamabad. During the briefing on the construction progress of the “Assan Khidmat Markaz” project, it was informed that work is progressing rapidly. More than 65% of the development work has been completed, and the project will soon be finalized and opened to the public. It was further stated that the “Assan Khidmat Markaz” is being developed on modern lines, incorporating advanced technology to improve public service delivery. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa directed that while ensuring timely completion of the “Assan Khidmat Markaz” project, the highest standards of quality must be maintained. He said the establishment of the center will enable citizens to access services from various departments under one roof. Relevant officers briefed the Chairman on the progress of the T-Chowk Flyover and Shaheen Chowk Underpass projects, informing him that nearly 80% of the work on the T-Chowk Interchange has been completed. Meanwhile, girder launching has commenced on the Shaheen Chowk Underpass project. The briefing noted that construction activities are underway 24/7 to ensure early completion of both projects. The Chairman directed the installation of permanent LED lights and SMDs to enhance the aesthetic appeal of both sites. While reviewing the Faizabad Interchange Remodeling project, it was informed that work is rapidly progressing on the construction of new loops to complete the remodeling initiative and address traffic congestion issues between the twin cities. The Chairman directed that a comprehensive traffic management plan be prepared in coordination with the Traffic Police to maintain smooth traffic flow during construction. The Chairman was also informed that cameras have been installed for improved monitoring of construction activities on all major ongoing projects in Islamabad. He directed relevant officers and Project Directors to ensure round-the-clock monitoring through these cameras, adding that effective monitoring is essential for timely and high-quality project completion. Chairman CDA emphasized that the objective of these initiatives is to make Islamabad one of the best and model cities in the world. He reiterated that all available resources are being utilized to ensure the development and beautification of the city, along with the provision of the best facilities and services to its citizens.
