High-Level Meeting Reviews Law & Order, Security Measures in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: 1 March, 2026: An important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Federal Secretary Interior, Captain ® Muhammad Khurram Agha, regarding ensuring the best law and order and security arrangements in the Federal Capital, Islamabad. The meeting was attended by Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Inspector General (IG) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon, as well as officers from the police and district administration. The Deputy Commissioners and District Police of Rawalpindi, Haripur, Murree and Attock also participated in the meeting via Zoom, along with other relevant officers. The meeting reviewed the law and order situation in the Federal Capital, Islamabad, as well as measures against illegally residing foreign nationals in Pakistan. Federal Secretary Interior, Captain ® Muhammad Khurram Agha, said that it is the commitment of the Government of Pakistan to ensure the security and safety of the country by making effective legal action against illegally residing foreign nationals. During the meeting, a decision was made to fully implement the Single Visa Regime. Action under the Foreigners Act 1946 will be taken against illegal Afghan nationals for the implementation of the Single Visa Regime in true letter and spirit. The meeting decided to further accelerate the combing operation against illegally residing foreign nationals and expand its scope. Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, while informing about the measures taken so far against illegally residing foreign nationals, said that legal action is continuing against landlords who provide residences to illegally residing foreign nationals. He said that FIRs are being registered against those providing business premises to illegally residing foreign nationals. He further added that data of foreign nationals returning from all districts has been integrated with the central dashboard of the Federal Ministry of Interior. Federal Secretary Interior, Captain ® Muhammad Khurram Agha, said that no relocation program has been implemented by the Ministry of Interior. He said that the community should also be involved in order to get rid of illegally residing foreign nationals. Inspector General (IG) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, said that Neghaban Committees have been formed in the Federal Capital, Islamabad. He directed that officers from other districts should also form Neghaban Committees in their respective districts to address the issue of illegally residing foreign nationals. Federal Secretary Interior, Captain ® Muhammad Khurram Agha, directed that officers from all districts ensure strict checking at the entry and exit points of their respective districts. He said that the presence of police personnel and administration should be increased for checking, and security should be enhanced at all important locations, places of worship, mosques and important and sensitive buildings. Inspector General (IG) Islamabad Police, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, said that a mechanism has been established for monitoring main highways, commercial centers and residential areas through Safe City cameras and modern technology. He further said that close surveillance is being kept on suspicious activities and individuals and comprehensive data of such elements has been compiled.
