ISLAMABAD: October 21, 2025: Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Ali Randhawa met with President Aga Khan University Dr. Sulaiman Shahabuddin, Chairman Aga Khan Board of Trustees Zakir Mahmood, and other board members on Tuesday at the CDA Headquarters. On this occasion, Chairman CDA warmly welcomed the President of Aga Khan University and the members of the Board of Trustees to the CDA Headquarters. The meeting discussed the establishment of a state-of-the-art teaching and tertiary care hospital under the Aga Khan University in Islamabad. The President of Aga Khan University, Dr. Sulaiman Shahabuddin, expressed a strong desire to promote high-quality medical education and advanced healthcare services in the Federal Capital. He conveyed the University’s interest in establishing an integrated teaching and research hospital equipped with international standard medical facilities. It was decided in the meeting to explore various options for allocating a prime and easily accessible location for the proposed Aga Khan University Teaching Hospital in Islamabad. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa assured his full support for the project, stating that this initiative by Aga Khan University would mark a significant milestone in the fields of healthcare and medical education in Islamabad. He noted that the hospital would play a pivotal role not only in providing world-class healthcare but also in advancing research and education. He added that the establishment of the Aga Khan University Teaching Hospital would bring modern and quality medical facilities to the citizens of the twin cities, as well as patients from Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Chairman Randhawa reaffirmed that providing the best facilities to the citizens of Islamabad remains one of CDA’s top priorities. He emphasized that several development projects are underway to ensure the Federal Capital continues to evolve on modern, clean, and green lines, with enhanced public amenities, including access to quality healthcare services.
