Chairman CDA, Chairman SUPARCO Discuss Satellite Technology Support for Islamabad’s Development

ISLAMABAD: November 25, 2025: Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, met with Chairman SUPARCO, Muhammad Yousaf Khan, on Tuesday at the CDA Headquarters. The meeting was attended by Member Planning and Design Dr. Khalid Hafiz, Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, and senior officers from both CDA and SUPARCO. During the meeting, key areas of mutual cooperation were discussed, including the use of advanced satellite imagery, drone technology, and opportunities for educational collaboration. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa stated that SUPARCO’s advanced satellite imagery will assist in resolving land-related issues across various sectors and help ensure swift action against illegal constructions and encroachments. He added that the incorporation of satellite technology would greatly enhance effective urban planning in both sectoral and non-sectoral areas. He further noted that the cooperation between CDA and SUPARCO will open new avenues for Islamabad’s development and planning. SUPARCO assured its full technical support for establishing a modern laboratory for CDA. It was also agreed that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) will be signed to strengthen educational collaboration between the CDA School and SUPARCO. Chairman SUPARCO Muhammad Yousaf Khan reaffirmed SUPARCO’s readiness to support CDA in aligning Islamabad’s development activities with modern technological standards. He appreciated CDA’s performance in ensuring the rapid completion of development projects in the Federal Capital. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa expressed his commitment to utilizing SUPARCO’s high-level technical expertise and capabilities for the betterment of Islamabad.
