ISLAMABAD: January 26, 2026: Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa chaired an important meeting on Monday at the CDA headquarters. The meeting was attended by Inspector General (IG) Islamabad Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, CDA Member Admin Talat Mahmood and senior officers from CDA, district administration and Islamabad Police. The meeting discussed security, law and order arrangements in the Federal capyital, Islamabad. A comprehensive briefing was given in the meeting regarding the extension of the Islamabad Safe City project and a detailed review was conducted of the complete timelines, design and provision of modern equipment. Similarly, the implementation of the M-Tag in the Federal Capital Islamabad was also discussed. IG Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi said that a zero-tolerance policy is being adopted to improve the law and order situation and against criminal elements in the Federal Capital Islamabad. He said that to make security in the Capital Islamabad more foolproof, police patrols, snap checking, and monitoring through CCTV cameras are being ensured. He further said that by utilizing modern technology the emergency response time has also been minimized. Chairman CDA directed that more CCTV cameras be installed on the entry and exit routes of the Capital Islamabad and that patrolling in the City also be increased. Chief Commissioner Islamabad instructed that all relevant agencies ensure coordinated communication to further improve the law and order and security situation. He directed that modern technology be utilized to further enhance the security and law and order situation in the Federal Capital Islamabad. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that in line with the vision of Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, all resources will be utilized to make the Federal Capital Islamabad a crime-free city. He added that providing a peaceful and secure environment to the citizens of the Federal Capital Islamabad is among our top priorities.
