Islamabad: October 2, 2025: Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, the Prime Minister's Coordinator on Tourism, met with Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, at CDA Headquarters on Thursday. The meeting focused on various projects aimed at promoting the tourism and hospitality industry in the Federal Capital. The meeting was attended by Member Planning and Design Dr. Khalid Hafiz, Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, Member Environment Esfandyar Baloch, DG Resource, DG Building and Housing, and other senior officers. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa stated that work is underway on several tourism-related projects, including a cable car, theme park, safari park, and other initiatives, to transform Islamabad into a major tourism hub. He highlighted that the city offers excellent opportunities for promoting both the tourism and hotel industries. He emphasized that special focus is being placed on establishing Food Streets and pedestrian tracks in Blue Area and other parts of Islamabad. He added that digital parking systems are being introduced to address parking and congestion issues across the city. The parking plaza in Blue Area is in its final stage of completion and will be made operational soon. Chairman CDA also mentioned that a comprehensive tree plantation drive is underway in the National Hill Park and across the city to preserve and enhance the environment. He noted that Islamabad’s green cover is expanding with each passing day, making the city greener and more beautiful. He further shared that work is progressing on organizing an international-standard industrial exhibition in Islamabad. Chambers of Commerce and the business community from across the country, including Islamabad, will be engaged to ensure its successful organization. Sardar Yasir Ilyas Khan, the Prime Minister's Coordinator on Tourism, said that promoting tourism is among the government’s top priorities. He expressed full support and willingness to extend all possible cooperation to the CDA in this regard. He noted that developing the tourism and hotel industry will not only provide excellent recreational facilities but also create significant employment opportunities. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa concluded that these initiatives will not only boost tourism in the Federal Capital but also ensure the provision of world-class recreational facilities for citizens. He affirmed that all available resources are being utilized to make Islamabad the most beautiful and attractive tourist city in the country.
