Shaheen Chowk Underpass Nears Completion Ahead of Schedule as Chairman CDA Reviews Progress

ISLAMABAD: 25 December, 2025: Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, visited the Shaheen Chowk Underpass project along with Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza and concerned officers. During the visit, a detailed review of the ongoing construction work and an inspection of various sections of the project were conducted. Briefing Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa on the progress made so far, the relevant officers informed that the development work of the Shaheen Chowk Underpass project has successfully entered its final stages ahead of the scheduled timeline. Overall, more than 93% of the project's development progress has been achieved so far. During the briefing, it was briefed that the structural work of the underpass has been completed, while the road work and finishing of the project are progressing rapidly. It was further informed that to beautify the project, attractive landscaping and horticulture work around it is also being completed swiftly. It was also apprised that permanent, aesthetically pleasing lights are being installed to further enhance the beauty of the project. Expressing satisfaction with the progress and high quality of the development work, Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that the project is not only being brought to completion ahead of time but no compromise has been made on the high quality standards of the development work. Chairman CDA said that the Shaheen Chowk Underpass project will provide signal-free and comfortable travel facilities to students of adjacent educational institutions and daily commuters. He said that providing the best travel facilities and modernizing infrastructure for the citizens of the Federal Capital, Islamabad, is among our top priorities. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that the completion of this project will not only provide the best travel facilities to the citizens of the Federal Capital, Islamabad, but will also result in savings of fuel and time.
