ISLAMABAD :September 26, 2025: A meeting on Capital Emergency Services was held on Friday at the CDA Headquarters, chaired by Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa. The meeting was attended by Member Planning and Design Dr. Khalid Hafiz, Member Environment Esfandyar Baloch, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon, Director General Capital Emergency Services Dr. Abdul Rehman, and other senior officers. The meeting reviewed proposals for upgrading and modernizing Capital Emergency Services in Islamabad. It was informed that consultation and assistance are being sought from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and that modern equipment will be provided to strengthen Capital Emergency Services. The services will be enhanced with drones, rescue motorbikes, and vehicles. A modern Emergency Operations Center will also be established to monitor operations and ensure a swift response, with a suitable location already identified. It was further briefed that drones and watchtowers will be deployed to effectively manage forest fires. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa directed that a modern system for real-time tracking and monitoring be established at the Emergency Operations Center. He instructed that staff recruitment and professional training at the Emergency Services Academy be expedited to further improve the efficiency of rescue operations. He emphasized the need to further reduce response times by installing trackers in ambulances and linking them with private ambulance services in the city. He also directed that additional sub-stations be constructed on a priority basis at low cost and at strategic locations. He stressed that housing societies should establish rescue stations in their respective areas to handle emergencies promptly. Chairman CDA affirmed that the purpose of these measures is to improve the quality of emergency services for the protection of citizens in Islamabad. He reiterated that all available resources will be utilized to equip Capital Emergency Services with modern facilities and equipment.
