CDA Reclaims Over 712 Kanals of State Land in Major Anti-Encroachment Drive Near Diplomatic Enclave

ISLAMABAD: December 12, 2025: The grand operation against illegal constructions and encroachments in the Federal Capital, Islamabad, is progressing rapidly, in line with the direction of Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa. According to details, the anti-encroachment operation in the area adjoining Diplomatic Enclave of the Federal Capital Islamabad is being conducted successfully. During this operation, over 712 kanals of valuable estate land, worth billions of rupees, has been reclaimed so far. For over a month now, land is being retrieved from illegal occupants under a comprehensive strategy as part of this ongoing anti-encroachment drive. In line with the direction of Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, Deputy Director General Enforcement, Dr. Anam Fatima, is personally supervised this grand operation on a continuous basis. Besides, Assistant Commissioner City, Sahibzada Yousuf from ICT Administration and SP Suleman from Islamabad Police are also monitoring the operation. It is pertinent to mention that all legal requirements were fulfilled prior to the anti-encroachment operation and formal notices were issued to the illegal occupants to vacate the estate land voluntarily. Similarly, a site office was established to review the legal claims of all residents before the operation. Announcements were also made prior to the operation urging people to voluntarily vacate illegal constructions. During the operation, numerous illegal constructions and encroachments were demolished peacefully with the help of heavy machinery. The registration of FIRs is also ongoing against those involved in the buying and selling of illegal land through fraudulent stamp papers. In this regard, local residents have been urged to cooperate fully with the CDA and district administration. CDA administration requested that any case of illegal occupation be reported to the relevant authorities immediately. CDA administration further said that these actions against illegal constructions and encroachments will continue consistently in the future as well. Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, said that all possible measures will be taken for the complete eradication of illegal constructions and encroachments. He directed that long-term measures be taken to secure the reclaimed land from re-occupation. Chairman CDA said that actions against illegal encroachments and constructions are extremely necessary for the city's beauty and organized planning. He directed that a zero-tolerance policy be adopted against the elimination of illegal constructions and encroachments and against the land mafia. He added that the purpose of these measures is to make the Federal Capital Islamabad the world's best, most beautiful and most organized City. It is worth noting that in the anti-encroachment operations ongoing for several months, estate land worth billions of rupees has been reclaimed across Islamabad so far.
