ISLAMABAD, September 1, 2026: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Fire & Emergency Services responded very promptly and effectively to a fire incident at Babar Plaza, F-8 Markaz, Islamabad, bringing the fire completely under control and successfully completing the rescue operation. Immediately after receiving information about the fire, CDA Fire & Emergency Services teams reached the site without any delay and launched a comprehensive firefighting and rescue operation. The firefighters took immediate action to prevent the fire from spreading further and gave top priority to ensuring the safety of people present inside the building. During the rescue operation, 12 people were safely evacuated from the building, while fortunately, no loss of life was reported in the incident. CDA firefighters and rescue personnel demonstrated professionalism, courage and dedication while carrying out the operation under challenging circumstances. The timely response and effective action by CDA, MCI were widely appreciated by citizens and people present at the site.
