ISLAMABAD: January 13, 2026: Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, met with a delegation from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on Tuesday at the CDA Headquarters regarding the Islamabad Inter-City Bus Terminal project. The meeting was also attended by CDA Board Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, DG Resource and other senior officers. The meeting discussed various projects, including the establishment of the Islamabad Inter-City Bus Terminal. Consultants from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) gave a briefing on the establishment of the Islamabad Inter-City Bus Terminal, informing that the initial feasibility report for the terminal has been completed. During the briefing, it was informed that ADB is developing the best financial model for the establishment of the Islamabad Inter-City Bus Terminal and that this project will also be interlinked with Islamabad's Metro Bus and Electric Feeder Bus service. It was further briefed that the Inter-City Bus Terminal project will also include modern electric charging stations for electric vehicles. Additionally, it was informed that ADB is providing its technical assistance for the preparation of the Islamabad Transport Master Plan. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa said that ADB should also provide its technical support for obtaining carbon credits for environmentally friendly projects. He said that all resources are being utilized to provide the citizens of Islamabad with environmentally friendly and excellent travel facilities. Chairman CDA further added that the completion of this project will significantly reduce traffic pressure on the highways of the Federal Capital, Islamabad. The meeting also reiterated the commitment to fully utilize the technical capabilities, experience, and expertise of the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
