38th Senior Management Course Officers Visit CDA Headquarters

ISLAMABAD: October 1, 2025: The faculty members and trainee officers of the 38th Senior Management Course (SMC), under the National Institute of Public Administration, visited the CDA Headquarters on Wednesday. Member Planning and Design Dr. Khalid Hafiz, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, and other CDA officers warmly welcomed the visiting delegation. Member Planning and Design briefed the participants on the overview, objectives, administrative structure, functions, and operations of the CDA. He informed them that Islamabad was developed in accordance with a Master Plan, divided into five distinct zones. The delegation was also apprised of the implementation of zoning regulations and the overall urban planning framework of the Capital. During the session, participants were briefed on the key challenges faced by Islamabad and the measures being undertaken to address them. It was highlighted that "Islamabad Water" has been established to resolve water supply issues, while multiple projects are underway to ensure better management of existing resources and to secure future demand. The SMC participants were also given a detailed presentation on Islamabad’s transport system, which currently includes four metro bus routes and 160 electric bus feeder routes. They were further informed that the city’s mass transit network has been integrated with Google Maps, where real-time information for all stations is now available. In addition, the delegation was briefed on the Solid Waste Management System, CDA’s budget and revenue streams, environment-friendly initiatives, the ongoing tree plantation campaign, crackdowns against illegal constructions and encroachments, sectoral development, digital parking, and other key development projects. The briefing underscored CDA’s commitment to resolving civic issues and transforming Islamabad into a modern, model city. It was emphasized that all available resources are being utilized to provide the best possible facilities to citizens. At the conclusion of the session, a lively question-and-answer segment was held, where participants discussed various civic challenges and their possible solutions. A commemorative shield was presented to the faculty members of the National Institute of Public Administration. Group photographs were taken, and best wishes were extended to the course participants for their promotion from Grade-19 to Grade-20, with the hope that they will continue to contribute effectively to the progress and development of Pakistan.
