Margalla Hills Trail 3 closed after confirmation of Leopard sightings

ISLAMABAD: November 19, 2022: Evidence of the presence of a leopard was found near Saidpur area of ​​Margalla Hills, a recreational place of the federal capital, on which the Chairman CDA Captain Retd. Mohammad Usman Yunus issued a special directive and said that the safety of life and property of the people should be ensured in all circumstances.

Moreover, as soon as information was received in this regard, under the direction of Chairman CDA and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Captain (retd) Muhammad Usman Yunus, special teams of Environment Wing, District Administration, Islamabad Police and Wildlife Department were dispatched to deal with any untoward incident. reached the said area for However, after finding evidence of the presence of a leopard near Trail 3, the said trail has also been temporarily closed to the public to ensure the safety of the public until the leopard is controlled.

Besides, on the special instructions of the Chairman CDA, additional duties of the staff of the Environment Wing, District Administration, Islamabad Police, and the Wildlife Department have also been assigned in the said area. While strict instructions have also been issued to the concerned staff to ensure their duty in 24 hours to deal with any untoward incident.

It should be noted that the special teams formed by the Environment Department of the CDA are also ensuring the monitoring of the entire area and will ensure the protection of the life of wildlife including the public by taking appropriate action in this regard. Similarly, the teams formed by the Wildlife Department are also taking effective steps to send the wildlife back to their habitat.

In this regard, Capital Development Authority administration has appealed to all the residents of the area to remain calm and along with this they have also asked not to believe anything they hear. And in this regard, the administration itself will inform the public when the track will be opened. Meanwhile, the joint teams of Wildlife Department including Environment Wing, Islamabad Police, District Administration are also playing their full role to secure the area.

On this occasion, the Chairman CDA says that ensuring the safety of people's lives and property is among the top priorities of the organization. Similarly, in any emergency situation, residents can also register their complaints on Risko 15. The complaint received in this regard will also be redressed on priority basis.
