ISLAMABAD: November 10, 2025: Secretary Election Commission of Pakistan, Omar Hamid Khan, met with Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Chief Commissioner Islamabad, Muhammad Ali Randhawa, at the CDA Headquarters on Monday. The meeting was attended by Member Engineering Syed Nafasat Raza, Member Finance Tahir Naeem, and senior officers from both the CDA Engineering Wing and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). The meeting featured a detailed discussion on various under-construction and upcoming projects of the Election Commission. These included deliberations on the construction of the Federal Election Academy and new office buildings in Islamabad. During the briefing, it was informed that the tendering process for these projects will commence shortly, and the foundation stone will be laid immediately after the completion of the tendering phase. It was further informed that the construction of the pre-fabricated gym at the Election Commission is progressing rapidly. The meeting also included a briefing on measures related to the Fire Safety Implementation Plan within the ECP Secretariat, as part of enhanced security protocols. It was stated that survey work for the fire safety plan has been completed, and its implementation will be prioritized. Chairman CDA Muhammad Ali Randhawa directed that representatives from the Election Commission be included in the tendering process for all relevant projects. He also emphasized that monitoring of construction and development work should be ensured through CCTV cameras. The Chairman further instructed that focal persons be appointed by both CDA and ECP to ensure high-quality standards and timely completion of ongoing projects. Secretary ECP Omar Hamid Khan appreciated the development and beautification initiatives undertaken by the CDA in Islamabad. He said that mutual cooperation and continuous coordination between the two organizations would not only ensure the swift completion of ECP’s ongoing projects but also facilitate the early commencement of future initiatives. The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to promote mutual cooperation and coordination between the CDA and the Election Commission of Pakistan.
