Urban Planning Directorate comes under Planning wing of CDA and its mains tasks are as follows:

To undertake forward planning within the frame-work of the existing Master Plan of the Urban area.

To evaluate the requirements and determine the relationship between various land-uses.

To appraise the quantitative and qualitative aspects of proposals for land utilization in the sectoral area of Islamabad.

To monitor the development within the Urban area.

To respond to trends in the development.
