Information Technology (IT) Directorate analyzes authority's need for computerisation. It plans, organizes and controls all analysis of computer system requirements with reference to hardware and software. Develops procedures for implementation and maintenance of all computer systems. Coordinates effort with other directorates for automation, business process reengineering. Maintains intranet within authority domain for fast transactions, data integration, retrieval, report generations and communications also.

Information Technology (IT) Directorate maintains the Management Information System including major applications namely Estate Management Information System, Payroll, Death and Birth Registration System and working on other areas like GIS, Financial suites, Revenue Billing, HRD, enabling eServices and satisfies all the computing and training needs of the authority.

The Directorate has developed and maintaining official website and Complaint Management System of authority to interact with citizens of Islamabad. Moreover, Social Media presence of the authority is also being managed by the IT directorate.
