About CDA Model School:

Keeping in view the need for providing quality schooling facilities for the children in Islamabad, based on modern teaching techniques, the board of the Capital Development Authority approved the establishment of the CDA Model School, I-9, Islamabad.

CDA Model School was established in March 1986. In the beginning the school was from Nursery to Class-II. Each year an upper class was added. At present education is up to Matriculation level.While the junior section (up to class V) is for boys and girls, the senior section (up to class X) is for girls only.

CDA Model School Facilities:

Classrooms:Classrooms are airy, well-decorated and provided with heaters and room-coolers etc.

Labs: The school has three well-equipped labs for the students:-

Science Lab: It has all the necessary apparatus for performing experiments of Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Home Economics Lab: It has four cooking-range, a refrigerator, a deep-freezer, a micro-wave oven, sewing machines, crockery etc. for performing practicals of home economics.

Computer Lab: A fully air-conditioned computer lab having 20 P-IV workstations loaded with latest operating systems and software packages. A laser printer, a scanner, a CD-Writer, DVD ROM etc. is also available for students.The internet facility in school is one of its prominent features. It has 2mb/s internet connectivity for research purposes for students and faculty. The lab is interconnected with fiber optic cable attached through LAN (local area network).

Library: The school library aims to support the academics & improving general knowledge of students. The library has a reasonable collection of books & magazines. All daily news papers & different magazines are provided to the students & the staff in library. The number of books is 5076. School has a plan to further improve it to facilitate the students & the staff.

Sports: The sports provided for the students are badminton, Base ball, shot-put, Javelin, discuss throw etc.

Health Facilities: The school has a first aid facility to attend the minor emergencies. In serious cases, the students are referred to CDA Hospital. In collaboration with Capital Hospital, Medical Check-up of all the students is managed on annual basis. Reports are kept in record and a copy is sent to the parents also.

Transport: School buses ply the twin cities to pick and drop the students close to their residences. The service is provided at nominal rates. TO (Transport Officer) can be contacted for further details.

Canteen: An amiable friendly school canteen provides a pleasant atmosphere for students. Refreshments are available at subsidized rates to the students faculty.

Auditorium: A well-decorated, air conditioned auditorium is available, where different curricular and co-curricular activities are held.

29th Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony:

Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony was held at CDA Model School on 4th February 2016.Chairman CDA Mr. Maroof Afzal graced the occasion as a chief guest. He was welcomed by the students, staff and principal, Ms. Tehseen Farah.

The ceremony started with the recitation of Quranic verses by Hizbullah Khan. Later the students presented a tableau on the theme"We all stand together". After that the students who achieved distinctions during the year in various inter- house competitions, Sports and SSC Examinations were awarded trophies and certificates. Human Noor was adjudged "The All Round Best Student" from the junior section. In senior section Namra Khan took the trophy of "All Round Best Student". Fazila Khan was declared "The Best Athlete of the session". In senior section Noor Jahan House won the co-curricular trophy and Razia Sultana House remained the winner of academic trophy. In junior section Iqbal House grabbed both trophies. Sports trophy was won by Razia Sultana and Jinnah House. Ms. Fadia Shamim, Ms.Shabana Kausar and Ms.Sumaira Kanwal were awarded best performance award. Ms.Tehseen Farah presented the school insignia to the chief guest. Mr.Maroof Afzal while speaking on the occasion admired the discipline of the institution and congratulated the students and their parents for their achievements. He appreciated the efforts of the staff. He assured to provide security, transport and maintenance facilities to the school. In the end Ms.Fadia presented vote of thanks.

Students'Council Takes oath:

The 20th oath taking ceremony of newly elected students' Council was held in the school auditorium here on Friday 20th May 2016. Dr.Anita Kapadia, Associate professor in faculty of school of Art, Design and Architecture at NUST, graced the occasion as the chief guest.

Principal Ms.Tehseen Farah presented the welcome address. The students 'Council consists of 23 members who are elected through voting. The council comprised of President, General Secretary and a class representative of each class. Newly elected President Warreesha Azed while expressing her views promised to work with determination for the betterment of the school. The students of junior and senior section have been divided into different Houses. The newly elected office bearers also took oath. The best council members for the session 2015-16 were Dua e Zehra from junior section and Wareesha Azed from senior section. Ex-president of students' council Tooba Waheed received merit certificates of her council.

CDA School shows 100% result in SSC Examination of Federal Board:

CDA Model School showed excellent result in SSC II Annual examination 2016 held under Federal Board of intermediate and secondary education. In all 40 students appeared in the examination out of which 39 got A-1 and A grades. The result remained 100%.

Iqra Batool of science group secured 994 marks (94.6%) .She remained 1st in the school. Laiba Chaudhry got 2nd position with 993 marks(94.5%) while Sadaf Inam with 987 marks (94%) got 3rd position in school.

In Humanities group, Maham Tayyaba Dar got 1st position with 834 marks. Rubab Shaheen got 2nd position with 802 marks. Areeba Shams got 3rd position with 800 marks. In Science group GPA of the school was 5.6.The principal Ms.Tehseen Farah appreciated the efforts and dedication of the students and teachers.

30th Annual Result Declaration:

Annual result declaration ceremony was held on 30th March 2016. Mr.Muhammad Hamza Shafqaat, Deputy Director General HRD, CDA was he chief guest. Principal Ms.Tehseen Farah gave a brief history of the school.

The position holders of every class were awarded trophies and cash prizes. Hassan Satti (class I ), Muhammad Faiq (Class II) , Fizza Asghar (Class III), Diya Hurmat (class IV), Kashish Mansoor (class V),Fatima Noor (Class VI),Ayesha Khan (Class VII)and Areeba Munir (Class VIII)secured first position in their class. The result of the school remained 98%.Hammad Sharif, Areeba Bukhari Syed Faryal Zahra,Hafia Nafees, Swera Zafar,Fizza Asghar,Kashaf Zehra,Urooj Fatima,Syeda Ishmal Zehra,Hussnain Nazir,Maryam Altaf and Humna Kamal took the trophies of the most regular students of the session 2015-16.

The awards of the most neat and clean, well-behaved, co-operative and disciplined students were awarded to Moeed Murtaza, Syeda Saliha Kazmi, Muhammad Hammad, Musfirah, Mirha Mehtab, Aqsa Arshad, Umamah Zarif and Eman Aslam. The chief guest congratulated the students and their parents on achieving success and appreciated the teachers for their efforts and hardwork. He further said that it is admirable that the students are awarded certificates for their behavior and manners as it helps a lot to groom their personalities. In the end the principal presented school insignia to the chief guest.
