Cleanliness Operation arrangements regarding Eid-ul-Azha

SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS ON THE EVE OF EIDUL AZHA, 2000 SANITATION WORKERS WILL PARTICIPATE IN OPERATION. MAYOR OF ISLAMABAD AND CHAIRMAN CDA, SHEIKH ANSER AZIZ CANCELS LEAVES OF SANITATION WORKERS.

Islamabad, August 29, 2017: Sanitation workers will participate in special cleanliness drive on the occasion of Eidul Azha, while special arrangements have been for provision of quality services and collection and disposal of offals, entrails other waste remains of sacrificial animals in the Capital City.  

The cleanliness operation will continue for three days during the Eidul Azha and 2,000 workers of Sanitation Directorate including cleaners, supervisory staff, contractors and their staff, and officers will work round the clock. Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA), Sheikh Anser Aziz has ordered for cancellation of leaves of entire staff of Sanitation Directorate.   

A meeting in this regard was held here at CDA Head, which was chaired by the Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz. On this occasion, Chief Officer, Metropolitan Corporation (MCI), Asad Mehboob Kiyani, Director General Civic Management, Director Sanitation and senior officers of concerned formations were also present.

Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz was briefed in detail about the special arrangements for cleanliness operation on the occasion of Eidul Azha. He was apprised that in line with his directions, Director of Sanitation has divided Islamabad into six (06) zones for collection of offals, entrails other waste remains of sacrificial animals to achieve the target.

Zone-I include the areas of F-5, F-6, Blue Area, Saidpur and Bari Imam while zone-II comprises upon Faisal Mosque, E-7, F-7, F-8, and G-8. Similarly, areas of sector F-10, F-11, Golra Sharif and Shah Allah Ditta in Zone-III, Zone-IV G-9, G-10, G-11 etc, Zone-V includes the areas of sector H-8, H-9, H-10, H-11, I-8, I-9, I-10/2, I-11, whereas Zone VI Highway, Model village Humak, Shehzad Town, Rawal Town and Margalla Town.

According to the action plan, during the operation on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha, more than 2000 workers of Sanitation Directorate including cleaners, supervisory staff, contractors and their staff, and officers will work round the clock and leaves of entire staff of Sanitation Directorate have been cancelled.  

Under the action plan, more than 200 vehicles from Sanitation, Environment, Enforcement and MPO including tractors and trolleys, compactors, trucks, dumpers, shawal, dozers etc would be used for collection and disposal of wastes of sacrificial animals. In addition to this, sanitation contractor of concerned sector would ensure best use of staff and machinery to cope with the emergency situation. 

Being part of the special sanitation plan for Eidul Azha, 60 deep ditches have been dug out at 25 different locations in entire city where offals and other wastes of sacrificial animals will be deposed off scientifically in line with hygienic standards. 

 Besides, two emergency cells have also been established, one at Transport Section, CDA fire Headquarters in G-7/4 while the other one at Sanitation Directorate, Sector    G-6/1-4 which would be functional round the clock for a quick response.

Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman, CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz has requested the citizens of the Federal Capital to cooperate with CDA staff and not to throw offal and other waste material of sacrificial animals in the green areas rather keep it in front of their houses so that sanitation workers could easily pick and dispose off these wastes properly.
