Operation against illegal water, electricity and gas connections

Islamabad, August 27, 2017:†On the directions of Member Administration, Capital Development Authority (CDA), Yasir Pirzada, operation against the illegal connections of water, electricity and gas as well as illegally installed suction motors on water supply lines in governmentís residential accommodations is underway. During the campaign, 14 (fourteen) illegally installed suction pumps have been removed and confiscated from the governmentís residential houses of F and G type situated in Sector G-6. The inspection team visited 166 government houses and removed these motors. Joint teams conducting this operation against the illegal connections and illegally installed motors, are from CDA, IESCO and Sui Gas. At the initial stage of the operation, the people observed that the teams participating in the operation and removing and further confiscating the illegal motors have started removing the motors from their houses by themselves.

The operation against the illegal connections of water, electricity and gas as well as illegally installed suction motors has been started in the aftermath of the directions of the Honourable Islamabad High Court. Following the directions of the Honourable Islamabad High Court, Member Administration, CDA, Yasir Pirzada constituted joint special team comprising of Enforcement Directorate, Sanitation Directorate and Water Supply Directorate.

Member Administration CDA, Yasir Pirzada has designated Chief Complaint Officer, Syed Hassan Rizvi as Focal Person, who will coordinate as liaison with IESCO, Sui Gas and Estate Office.

To make this operation a successful, CDA will seek the coordination of Police contingents of the concerned Police Station and Magistrate of the District Administration to ensure implementation on the directions of Honourable Islamabad High Court.

Member Administration, Yasir Pirzada inspection teams to start operation in Sector F-6 from Monday. It is pertinent to mention here that CDA has already warned the residents of government houses through advertisements in the media before the initiation of this operation for removal of illegal connections of water, electricity and gas and suction motors. While different team of CDA also visited door to door in this regard to inform the residents to refrain from such illegal activities. While some of the residents voluntarily removed these illegal connections.

As the operation against illegal connections of water, electricity and gas is in progress, joint teams of CDA, IESCO and Sui Gas will conduct the campaign in Sector F-6 on Monday. CDA the residents of Sector F-6 to remove these illegal connections otherwise, the inspection teams will not only remove these motors but would also confiscate it.
