MCI / CDA's Monsoon Tree Plantation - 2017

Islamabad: August 25, 2017: Maximum tree plantation in Islamabad is our prime objective. Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) are using their maximum resources for maximum tree plantation in Islamabad. Private Sector is also being organized for this purpose. Private sector will plant Ten Millions plants in Islamabad during next ten years. Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman, Capital Development Authority (CDA), Sheikh Anser Aziz expressed these views while chairing a meeting regarding tree plantation in Islamabad. The meeting was followed by MoU signing ceremony between MCI and private company. Mayor Islamabad of Chairman, CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz, Chief Officer Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad Asad Mehboob Kyani and Member Administration, CDA Muhammad Yasir Peerzada witnessed the ceremony of signing of MoU.

The D.G Environment further briefed the meeting that the private company will plant ten million plants in Islamabad during next ten years. The company will plant samples which will be suitable for environment of Islamabad. All cost of the tree plantation will born by the company without any liability for CDA. The company will take care of the plants till six months after plantation and the period can exceed if required. The private company will not be allowed to display or advertise its name or logo. Environment Wing of MCI will supervise the entire activity.

The D.G Environment briefed the meeting that MCI will kick off its own Monsoon Tree Plantation drive for 28th August. The drive will be kicked off through a ceremony to be held at Rawal Lake View Park at 11:00 a.m. Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman, CDA Sheikh Anser Aziz will be the chief Guest there. Approximately 03 Lacs Saplings will be planted trough the Monsoon Tree Plantation Campaign.

Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman, CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz further said that CDA and MCI welcome private sector, NGOs, and civil society for their participation in green character of Islamabad.
