Maintenance work being carried out on tube wells

Islamabad: June 21, 2017:  Uninterrupted supply of water to the residents of the Federal Capital is our top priority. Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) is making all out efforts to ensure smooth supply of water to the residents of the city. Due to less rains, water level in the reservoirs and underground water table dropped down, however, it is expected that situation would be improved in coming monsoon season.  

Early completion of repair and maintenance work being carried out on different tube wells and water supply lines is being ensured. Furthermore, regular and strict monitoring is being ensured to eliminate complaints of water theft and water shortage from the city.

During the last three weeks Sub-Division-I of Production Division-I, Water Supply Directorate carried out repair and maintenance of water installments in the areas of its preview. Staff of Sub-Div-I carried out repair and maintenance of 48 inch Dia 3rd conduction line near Quaid-e-Azam University, clean filter beds at Simly Dam Filtration plant, filter beds at Korang water works and filter beds at new Simly Filtration plants.

Similarly Sub-Div-II of Water Production-II carried out repair and maintenance of different tube wells located in Sector F and G series. In this connection, Wapda fault Tube Well No.149, 161 and 253 located in Sector G-11, G-9 and G-6 respectively was rectified by the staff of water supply directorate, Similarly, fault in tube well No.204, 178, 223 and 163 located in Sector F-9, H-9, G-11 and G-10 were also rectified. Line leakage occurred in Tube well No.44 situated in Sector G-9 was also removed. In addition to these chlorination at different tube wells were also carried out by the staff of Sub-Div-II.

Moreover, Sub-Div-III of Water Supply has carried out repair/ maintenance and cleaning work of different tube wells located in National Park area and Golf Course area. In this connection fault occurred in tube well No.3, 17 and 10 located in National Park area, tube well No.07, 01, 133, 14, 16, 18 and 11 located in Punan Faqiran were also removed. In addition to these several other faults reported were also removed.
