MCI and CDA to put their collective efforts in making Islamabad model city
Islamabad: April 3, 2017: Mayor Islamabad and Chairman, CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz chaired a review meeting held at CDA Headquarters here on Monday. The meeting reviewed the progress of different formations of Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) and Capital Development Authority (CDA). On this occasion senior officers of MCI and CDA were also present.
On this occasion Mayor Islamabad and Chairman, CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz was apprised that revamping and improvement of road infrastructure is among our top priority. In this connection, re-carpeting of the different major roads of the city is in progress. Mayor Islamabad and Chairman, CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz was apprised that Anti Encroachment drive in the city is on full swing. During this drive all illegal constructions and encroachment on government land would be removed. He was further informed that in order to achieve desired result from the drive teams of Enforcement Directorate have been working in two shifts. Mayor Islamabad and Chairman, CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz was further briefed that overall sanitation system is being improved. In this connection sanitary workers in different markets deputed in two shifts so that city markets could be kept clean even in late hours. While briefing about the initiatives taken by MCI and CDA, the Mayor Islamabad and Chairman, CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz was informed that all entries and exit points of the city, green belts of the major roads, and busy roundabouts are being decorated with colorful and state of the art landscaping. He was further informed that to improve the water supply all dysfunctional tube wells have been repaired while strict action will be taken against illegal connections in addition to imposition of heavy fines on water wastage. He was further informed that different steps are being taken to improve street light system. In this connection residents can lodge their complaints with Chief Complaint Officer and within 24 hours such complaint are disposed off. He was apprised that there was not proper solid waste system in the city, however, incumbent management finalized the planning of state of the art landfill site and soon Islamabad would to have a modern solid waste management system like other capitals of the world.
Mayor Islamabad and Chairman, CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz said that in order to make Islamabad a model city in line with the vision of Prime Minister of Pakistan Mhuammad Nawaz Sharif, all formations of MCI and CDA should put their collective efforts so that residents of the city would observe significant change.
