Anti Encroachment Operations

Islamabad: March 14, 2017: Enforcement Directorate of Capital Development Authority (CDA) conducted 25 anti-encroachment operations from March 06, 2017 to March 13, 2017 and demolished several illegal constructions and removed encroachments including seven (07) illegally constructed rooms, three (03) boundary walls, one (01) juggies setup, two (02) illegal tea stalls / chapper hotels and six (06) illegally constructed cabin like shops. During these operations 327 encroachment items / articles were also confiscated which were shifted to store located in F-9 Park. This was informed during a meeting held at CDA Headquarters which was chaired by Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz. The meeting reviewed the progress of ongoing anti-encroachment drive of CDA and Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad. On this occasion, senior officers of Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) and CDA were also present.

On this occasion, Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman Sheikh Anser Aziz directed to continue going anti-encroachment drive without any fear or favour. He said that anti-encroachment drive will continue till complete elimination of encroachments from the city. He said that elimination of encroachments from the city is a collective responsibility, therefore, business community particularly traders union should join hands with CDA and MCI in complete eradication of encroachments. While briefing the meeting about the progress of anti-encroachment drive, Director Enforcement informed that several operations were conducted against different movable and immovable encroachments and illegal construction all over the city during the last week. He informed that a grand operation was conducted in Markaz G-11. During these operations six (06) illegally constructed shops in the basement of a plaza were demolished. Furthermore, during the operation, encroachments established on the footpaths, verandas and open spaces were removed. During this operation six (06) laden trucks were confiscated which were later shifted to store located at F-9 Park.

Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA, Sheikh Anser Aziz was further apprised that during the last week six (06) illegally constructed rooms in different areas of the city including H-9 Katchi Abadi, Bari Imam, Margalla Town and near police station Secretariat. Moreover, two (02) illegally constructed boundary walls in the area of Bari Imam and one (01) in the area of H-9 Katchi Abadi were also demolished. Similarly, 800 blocks used for construction purpose were also razed. Moreover, two (02) buffalos shed in the area of Kurri were also removed. The meeting was further informed that during the last week number of anti-encroachment were carrie3d out all around the city and 327 encroachment articles were confiscated. These operations were conducted in G-11/2, F-9 Park, Poly Clinic Expressway, I-10, I-11,I-8, H-9, G-7/2, Melody Market, Park Raod, Mandi Moor, Kohsar Market, Jinnah Supper, Rawat, Khanapul, Ziz Masjid, Kuri Road, Iqbal Town, Dhok Kala Khan, Super Market, Jhnagi Syedan, Tarnol and Kurri Road. During these operations several of movable, immovable and road side encroachments were removed. Furthermore, encroachments established in the verandas, footpaths and pathways of different markets were also removed. The meeting was briefed that notices have been also served to the violators in the areas of Jabba Teli, H-9, Margalla Town, Safa Gold Mall, Farooqia Market, G-7 Khadda market, Quaid-e-Azam University area, Rana Market, G-8, G-9 and G-10 for removing illegal constructions voluntarily, otherwise, strict action would be taken against these violators after expiry of notice period.

The Mayor of Islamabad and Chairman CDA Sheikh Anser Aziz expressed his satisfaction over the performance of Enforcement Directorate. He directed the enforcement directorate to accelerate the pace of anti-encroachment drive.
