Islamabad to get four new hospitals
Islamabad: January 5, 2017. Uplift of health facilities in the capital city is among the top priorities of present government. Construction of new hospitals and up-gradation of existing health facilities are the corner stones of multi-pronged strategy to improve health conditions in Islamabad. The Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has envisioned four new hospitals for Islamabad and expansion of facilities in existing hospitals, said Mayor Islamabad and Chairman, CDA Sheikh Anser Aziz.
Capital Hospital is among esteemed health facilities in Islamabad. Plans have been chalked out to upgrade facilities at the Capital Hospital. The up-gradation plan includes induction of fresh doctors and allied health staff and installation of latest medical equipments, Mayor Islamabad and Chairman, CDA Sheikh Anser Aziz added.
Up-gradation of medical facilities is a part of strategy to cure the disease affected patients. The other prong of the strategy is to prevent out break of diseases by providing healthy atmosphere to the residents of the Capital City. Directorate of Health Services has been at forefront for prevention of disease out break. Attention is now being paid to uplift Directorate of Health Services as well, Mayor Islamabad and Chairman, CDA Sheikh Anser Aziz further said.Director General Health Services appraised initiatives and actions of year 2016 in meeting at CDA Headquarters. Teams of Health Services Directorate took action against 1191 substandard food sellers and 798 were challaned as well. 676 substandard food samples were taken and sent to laboratories for reports. 1922 items were confiscated and smashed to stop reuse. Mayor Islamabad and Chairman, CDA Sheikh Anser Aziz was also briefed that after warning and challans, shops were sealed and FIRs got registered against violators. 35 shops included Restaurants, Bakers and General Stores were sealed.
