Islamabad, July 23, 2015: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) continued its operation against the illegal slums and other encroachments in the capital city on Thursday. On the second day of grand operation, Enforcement Directorate of Authority razed more than 250 illegal structures and houses constructed on the green belt between the Sector I-10 and H-10, along the railway line and the adjacent area. Heavy machinery was also used during the operation, which was carried out in the presence of Deputy Director General Land and Estate, Director Enforcement, CDA, Assistant Commissioner ICT, SP Police, Industrial Areas, Islamabad, as well as the Enforcement staff of the Authority.

CDA’s Environment Wing would plant different species of saplings on the land vacated from the encroachers to preserve it from re-emergence of the encroachments. On failure to vacate the CDA land, the Authority carry out the operation against the illegal occupants to clear the area from encroachments.

CDA Member Administration and Estate, Amer Ali Ahmed directed the Enforcement Directorate to carry out the operation on daily basis and ensure across the board removal of encroachments and illegal constructions. He also directed for effective monitoring system to avoid re-emergence of the illegal constructions on green belts and other CDA land.
