The
CDA Model School I- 9 Islamabad celebrated its 23rd
Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony in the school
premises.
Mr.
Imtiaz Inayat Elahi, Chairman CDA, was the chief
guest on the occasion. He was warmly welcomed by
the students and staff led by the Principal Mrs.
Shahwar Ajmal. Before the formal ceremony a short
briefing about the school history, present
situation, excellent performance of the students
in the Secondary School Certificate Exams and the
Board’ s decisions for up-gradation of the
school up to higher secondary level was presented
by the Principal.
The
formal ceremony started with the recitation from
the Holy Quran and Naat. The Principal presented
the address of welcome. A colourful programme by
the students followed the welcome address. Later
the students who achieved distinctions during the
year in various Inter-House Competitions, Sports,
and SSC Exams were awarded prizes. Seven students
of SSC who remained in top 60 positions in the
exams held under the Federal Board of Intermediate
& Secondary Education in March, 2009 were
given cash prizes. Kaneez Fatima was awarded gold
medal and a cash of Rs.5000/-in
Science Group,Kuntum Zehra and Niegarh
Zehra were also awarded gold medals and a cash of
Rs.3000/-each in General Group. Nosheen Sadiq
was adjudged the All Round Best Student
from the senior section and Fariah Qaiser from the
junior section of the school. In the senior
section, Noor Jehan House took the co-curricular
trophy and academic trophy was won by Razia
Sultana House. Nishter House won the co-curricular
trophy and Noon and Jinnah House were joint
winners of the academic trophy in the junior
section.

In
the junior section the pass percentage remained
98%. As far as the result of senior section is
concerned, the pass percentage from class VI to
VIII remained 94.7%.
96 students are appearing in SSC part I, II
annual Exams 2009 under Federal Board.
The successful candidates were awarded with
the winner’s cups and special prizes for their
distinctive performance.
